This is my solution to Facebook & Tumblr imposing limits on my self expression, censoring my words and images and deleting my account. Here, I can be free to do what I want. And besides, it is copyrighted… no fckin one is going to be able to reproduce this. It´s much more personal, you can feel it and touch it. It will get bruised with wear and tear and become more precious with time. It is real. I am so tired of meaningless internet platforms where everyone just wants to be a pretty profile picture and load up cool shit. Instead of making their own cool shit… instead of being naked and showing their real identity.

Besides shooting the gnomes on the lawn outside our hotel, I also got in trouble for shooting this grocery cart in a supermarket upstairs where there was a Starbucks and a restroom. I kinda felt I might but after having seen the cart I raced up with the pretense of using the bathroom and shot it anyways. The manager of the supermarket was called and I was accused of photographing his office which happened to be right next to the cart, and the office door happened to be open. I had a hell of a time trying to explain to him why I was taking a foto of a grocery cart…

I shot this right outside our hotel, exiting through the bar. It was an area between several high buildings with tables for people to have their lunch at outside. But after taking only two images a high security official raced out of the building and I was told it is illegal to shoot any pictures of anything or anyone on this area.

Man, I was in Houston for the Photofest 2012 and that city freaked me out. I nearly got arrested twice for taking fotos: once of a supermarket cart and another time for shooting five gnomes on the lawn outside our hotel. Then my Mom and I bought some sushi Sunday morning at a supermarket which was so far we had to get a cab there. We added a beer to our cart. Some guy came and took it out telling us it was prohibited to buy alcohol anywhere in Texas on Sunday morning. We laughed our heads off. Anyways, by some miracle I managed to shoot these fotos outside of Macys department store without being harassed by any high security officials. These anti-pidgeon elements encompassed the entire circumference of the building but seemed not to keep the pidgeons out. Which to me was a reflection on Texa´s paranoia and high anti-terrorism preventions. And just the bizarre feel that downtown Houston has to it… a pretty unfriendly place.

Saw this boy on the subway with his guitar. When we got off I asked him what kind of music he plays: country western. Would have liked to hear him play…

I was walking to the market when I saw more than a dozen of these paint tubes compressed into the street asphalt. I don´t know how this came about but if someone thought this up as a concept it is brilliant. The tubes were squeezed flat and the paint oozed out. It is really a masterpiece, the quintessence in art.
